Nostalgia in astrological terms will find its root in the action of the moon in our birth charts

The moon is seen to be the holder of our memories and that ability we have to allow our minds to flood backwards, to dive into our past.

For the Moon, the past is a familiar country, and although all memories may not be tinged with a rosy glow, at least we know it, we've been there.... done that.....

I suppose we could say that the Moon in the birth chart, represents a sort of 'lunar memory bank'.

It contains, symbolically, old photos, bus tickets, theatre programmes, a shell or a stone from the beach, all of those small momentos and memory links to the feelings and emotions we experienced and associate with those symbols.

That yearning for the 'good old days', and a feeling familiarity and of coming home or being at home with ourselves.

Maybe we need to meditate on the following questions - these will help us to get in touch with our lunar energies.

What does it take for us to feel at home, where is our 'go to' place, that place of safety and security?

Which of our memories evoke feelings of 'coming home', of warmth and bring a smile to our face?

Those are the memories of nostalgia, of a sentimental yearning for a return to the past, of coming home.

Does our remembrance of the past inspire our future, or does it pull us backwards?
