Moon and Love

When thinking about relationship potentials and compatibility - it is easy to concentrate on the placement of planets such as Venus (love) and Mars (lust) or perhaps the 7th house of the 'other' and its ruler
But I've become increasingly aware of the sometimes overlooked, yet to my mind, important impact, that the Moon has on our ability to form secure relationships.
Cutting back to the basics, our lunar self represents our deepest security needs, our sensitive and vulnerable self and it takes a lot for us to trust our vulnerability, our 'baby' self to another - to open ourselves up. Our Moon seeks to nurture and in turn to be nurtured and understood by another.
So, when working with chart comparisons, especially regarding our more intimate relationships, I must admit that one of the first stopping points for me - is the Moon. People with compatible Moon placements, instinctively 'get' each other.
And interestingly, strong lunar connections, not only with the Moon but with other planets, can bring a feeling of 'familiarity', that feeling of 'Don't I know you from somewhere?'
Of course other factors can come into play - but remember we bring our 'baby' selves to our more intimate relationships and compatible moon signs can offer a starting point
We must bear in mind however, that if Moon signs aren't compatible, (and remember the Moon may make other powerful connections) - that does not indicate relationship problems, far from it - but it may be, that on some level, we'll keep that vulnerable part of ourselves a little guarded and protected.
Another interesting point to give some thought to regarding the Moon and relationships, is that of non verbal communication - or 'body language' The Moon thrives on our instinctual nature and typically, in order to protect itself, puts out little feelers into the world picking up on vibes, atmospheres and importantly - non-verbal cues. In other words we tune into others via their subtle body positioning and movements and hopefully, adjust our behaviours accordingly.
Why not look up your own Moon sign and begin to suss out the lunar influences that you bring to your relationships
